  • Day 1:
    This tour departs the UK and flies overnight from London Heathrow to Johannesburg.
  • Day 2:
    On arrival at Johannesburg you are transferred by domestic flight to Durban where you are met by your guide and driver and transferred to Babanango Valley Lodge in the heart of Zululand(+ Hluhluwe / iMfolozi Park)
  • Day 3:
    This morning you will be taken on a guided tour of the Zulu Valley of the Kings to cover sites of Zulu historical interest.
  • Day 4:
    Today you will enjoy a day trip to the nearby Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park for game viewing. This Big 5 Park was made famous during the 1960s for saving the White Rhino from probable extinction.
  • Day 5:
    We move on to Fugitive's Drift Lodge and will be taken on a guided tour of Rorke's Drift this afternoon.
  • Day 6:
    This morning will involve a tour of Isandlwana followed by a visit to Fugitive's Drift in the afternoon.
  • Day 7:
    Onward today to a delightful lodge near Dundee as a base for exploring the nearby Anglo-Boer War battlefields and museum. Tours will include Ladysmith and Talana.
  • Day 8:
    Continue today with guides tours of Colenso, Wagon Hill and Churchill's Capture site.
  • Day 9:
    We move on this morning to visit the battle of Spioenkop before heading on to the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains.
  • Day 10:
    A break today from battlefields will be spent exploring the Drakensberg including The Royal Natal National Park.
  • Day 11:
    Return to Durban to either connect with a flight home or enjoy a holiday extension in South Africa. (see below)
  • Day 12:
    Arrive back in the UK.
Tour starts in Cape Town and finishes at either Cape Town or Port Elizabeth, to suit.

The Flagship Tours - Cape Town extension

  • Day 11:
    Transfer by domestic flight to Cape Town where you will me met by your guide and transferred to your hotel on the V&A Waterfront. The afternoon will be at leisure.
  • Day 12:
    This morning your guide will escort you on a city orientation tour and a trip by cable car to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting). During the afternoon you will be taken on a visit to Robben Island where former President Nelson Mandela spent so many years incarcerated on the island prison.
  • Day 13:
    Today you will enjoy a full day guided peninsula tour, to include Simonstown, the penguins at Boulders Beach and Cape Point National Park.
  • Day 14:
    This morning you will be collected from your hotel for a full day guided Winelands tour, to include wine tastings.
  • Day 15:
    This is intended as a day of leisure and to enjoy the V&A Waterfront for shopping for last minute souvenirs or perhaps to re-visit a favourite spot. During the afternoon you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport, for your flight home.
  • Day 16:
    Arrive back in the UK.

Tour starts & finishes at London Heathrow or from Durban / Cape Town for those travelling within South Africa.
